Chef Profile
Maurizio Bocchi
Maurizio Bocchi is Chef Patron and, along with his wife Cinzia, Proprietor at La Locanda – a nationally acclaimed Italian restaurant in the heart of Lancashire’s Ribble Valley. Highly regarded for his dedication to serving seasonal, inspiring dishes of authentic flavours which respect the traditions of Italian cuisine, culture and heritage; combined with exceptional regional ingredients from small local producers.
Born on the banks of Lake Maggiore in northern Italy, Maurizio grew up in the countryside spending his childhood learning about and appreciating the abundance of amazing produce they had around them, recognising and tasting them at their best.

Days entailed milking cows and goats, caring for the animals, gaining knowledge in the manufacture of butter and fresh aged cheeses as well as cured meats.
